On Thursday, September 12th, Vinton-Shellsburg FFA members headed to Calmar's NICC for the Tri-State Dairy event. The contest featured Dairy Cattle Judging and Dairy Foods Evaluation. The Dairy Cattle Judging teams included Bridgette Castle, Bri Dulin, Kirsten Pettit, Braxtyn Stevens, Jameson Demuth, Will Kreutner, and Jessen Demuth. In the Dairy Foods Evaluation, Lily Mossman tried her hand at a new contest and learned a lot. Members who competed at Tri-State Dairy had a fantastic time expanding their skills in dairy evaluation.

The following day, Friday, September 13th, the State Dairy contests took place at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Manchester. Members tested their skills in new events and practiced extensively both before and after school. In State Dairy Cattle Evaluation, the team received a Silver placing. This team included Kirsten Pettit, Bri Dulin, Landon Wygle, and Levi Lutz. In the Milk Quality CDE, the team also earned a Silver ranking, and it included Abby McKenna, Zane Helter, Addi Obadal, and Braedon Hepker. Overall, members had a great time showcasing their skills and trying new contests.
