AmeriCorps members serving at the North Central campus in Vinton, Iowa have been pulled to assist with shelter operations, mobile feeding, warehouse support, and damage assessment in North Carolina. They will be arriving in Charlotte on Saturday, October 5 and checking in at the American Red Cross office to receive their assignments before heading to Asheville. 

 

Tasks members are assisting the American Red Cross with include:

  • Shelter operations- They are helping with feeding, checking in, and answering questions.
  • Damage assessment - They are going door to door or doing driving assessments.
  • Mobile feeding - They are fixing and serving meals at fixed locations and packing up and delivering meals to other communities.
  • Logistics/Warehouse support - They are loading and unloading supplies and donations.
