The annual Lighted Holiday Parade will be held in downtown Vinton on Thursday, November 21st, beginning at 6:00 p.m. This marks the 17th year for the event. The parade is organized by the local veterans and bring Santa Claus to town for the season.

Organizations are invited to participate by decorating a float, adding some lights for the festivities and joining in the fun. Line up is on 6th St. near the church. There is no registration or fees required to participate.  The only request that there are no Santa imposters on your float as the real one will arrive on a fire truck with help from our veterans!

A chili supper will be held at the Vinton Fire Department to raise funds for the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight. Serving will be from 4:30-7:30 p.m. with the Vinton Lions Club serving.

The following Sunday, November 24th will be Vinton's Holiday Open House event with area businesses kicking off the Christmas season. The Open House will run from noon until 4:00 p.m. Come on in and start your Christmas shopping!
