 The 29th-31st of October, Andrew Pingenot got the amazing opportunity to take part in the Global Youth Institute for the World Food Prize. At the conference Andrew got to sit in with conversations led by world leaders or companies that are trying to make a difference in global food security, helped package 20,000 meals for the hungry, and joined the Borlaug Dialogue attendees for lunch to collaborate on solutions for world hunger. He also toured the Des Moines Arboretum, explored the Global Institute Building, competed in a "Plant the Moon" challenge, and played a new game "Farmcraft" that combines Farming Simulator and Minecraft to advocate for solving hunger problems in agriculture. "During my time at the World Food Prize I was able to meet a lot of world leaders and impactful people among the world of food security. I enjoyed my experience at the World Food Prize a lot because I was able to meet a lot of new people and learn about a lot of new things that are challenging our world. One of the newest things I learned about was what some companies are doing to educate the world and improve our efficiency about the global world food supply!" Because Andrew participated in the conference he was able to receive scholarship money to Iowa State University! Congratulations Andrew on this amazing accomplishment!
