The Benton County Courthouse has embraced the holiday spirit with a heartwarming addition to its second floor: a beautifully decorated Christmas tree adorned with handmade ornaments created by local students.
The colorful ornaments, carefully crafted and lovingly colored by kindergarten and first-grade art students from Vinton-Shellsburg schools, were brought to life under the guidance of art teacher Shayla Hemphill. Each ornament is a unique creation, reflecting the imagination and joy of the young artists who took part in the project.
This has been such a meaningful way for the students to contribute to the community.
The tree, now a centerpiece of the courthouse's holiday decor, features ornaments ranging from cheerful snowmen to bright candy canes, each one a vibrant expression of the children's creativity. Visitors to the courthouse have already begun stopping to admire the display, many remarking on how the ornaments bring a touch of warmth and whimsy to the building.
The tree is a wonderful example of what the season is all about-community, creativity, and joy. The children's work truly lights up the space and reminds us of the magic of Christmas.
The tree will remain on display throughout the holiday season, inviting courthouse visitors to take a moment to appreciate the festive spirit and the local talent that helped create it. Community members are encouraged to stop by and enjoy the display, which serves as a charming reminder of the joy that collaboration and creativity can bring.
