The local Vinton Kiwanis group hosted Santa Claus at Pizza Ranch on Tuesday. The group has an inside connection to Santa at the North Pole. Every year their special elf connects with Santa to arrange a visit with St. Nick.

This year Joe Wehage was in charge of directing traffic to make way for Santa's sleigh to land in downtown Vinton.

Children from the Vinton-Shellsburg students joined the Vinton Kiwanis Club for Christmas dinner and gifts straight from the North Pole for each of the children.

This is an annual project in which Santa and the Kiwanis have been sharing Christmas with area children for many years.

Pictures of the event can be seen HERE.

A special thank you to each of the Vinton Kiwanis members to make this awesome event possible, you really are the best!
