News : Second family in need of assistance following fire

The Vinton Fire Department received the call late Sunday night to put out a fire in the apartments located on K Ave. between Tootsie's and Beast and Bird on Highway 218.

The Vinton Fire Department was on the scene until about 2:30 a.m. The structure housed two apartments, laundry facility and office, The structure is a total loss. At this time there is no known cause for the fire. Assisting the Vinton Fire Department were Mt.Auburn, Garrison and Urbana Fire Departments.
The second family affected by the fire was located. Angela Isenhower was the second resident in the other apartment above the Kupers.

According to the page, her apartment was destroyed in the same fire, and unfortunately, she lost her beloved cat in the tragedy. Any donation, no matter how small, will go towards finding her a safe place to live and rebuilding her life.
