The Vinton-Shellsburg High School Girls' Basketball program, hosted a memorable Pink Night, celebrating the strength of local breast cancer survivors while raising awareness about the importance of early detection. The event also served as a fundraiser for Gifts of Hope, an initiative through Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, Iowa, that provides crucial support to individuals facing breast cancer.

The energy in the gym was electric, with Viking Spirit on full display as the community came together to support this important cause. Survivors in attendance were recognized as the true warriors that they are and inspiring all who attended. Adding to the impact of the evening, the team designed special Pink Night shirts, with proceeds directly benefiting the Gifts of Hope program.

Gifts of Hope is offered through Virginia Gay Hospital and provides financial assistance for mammograms and diagnostic testing to individuals who are uninsured or underinsured. The program ensures that cost is never a barrier to early detection, which is key in the fight against breast cancer.
