Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Week 2025 was packed with exciting events for everyone to enjoy before, during, and after school. The week kicked off on Monday, February 17, with America Monday, where students were encouraged to wear red, white, and blue. During Advisor, there was "Animal" Yoga, and in the evening, the annual Family Reunion Dinner & Fundraiser took place at Pizza Ranch starting at 4:30 P.M. We had 60+ members and guests attend this event.

Tuesday’s theme was Sleeping on the Farm, and we invited students to wear pajamas. Due to a late start, we were not able to have our Cornhole Tournament during Advisor.

On Wednesday, students dressed in blue and gold as the FFA members headed off to Sub-Districts for Leadership Development Events at Hawkeye, with everyone advancing to Districts!

Thursday’s theme was Outdoor Explorer Day, along with Anything But a Water Bottle Day. During Advisor, there was bracelet-making, which was a great activity for everyone in the school to participate in. In the evening, there was an all-member FFA meeting that took place at 6:30 P.M. in the high school library. We had the opportunity to play ag trivia for the chance to win some fun prizes.

The week wrapped up on Friday with Flannel Friday. Middle and high school FFA members cooked and served a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast before school. After school, members put together 39 planter boxes for teachers in the schools, ending with a Sub-District High School Dip, Dive & Dodge event in the evening.

Middle School FFA students also joined in on the fun with some of their own activities throughout the week, in addition to participating in some of the high school activities. Their dress-up days included Tractor Team on Monday, Life on the Farm on Tuesday, Red, White, and Blue on Wednesday, Future Career Day on Thursday, and National Blue and Corn Gold to show their FFA pride on Friday. They also had several activities planned during their RTI, including a Blooket activity on Monday and Friday, and Barnyard Olympics on Wednesday and Thursday.

These were all a great success for them, and we had a fantastic week. We also want to say thank you to all the people who helped out this week; we couldn’t have gotten through this week without your support!
