The Cedar Rapids sky was filled with war planes Saturday. War Birds over Iowa did a benefit for Eastern Iowa Honor Flight by bringing in vintage exact replicas to scale of several planes, including a B-17 and Jet Fighter.

These remote control aircraft are identical to the real planes and when they are air born from a distance they look and sound real. Cedar Rapids Sea Hawks donated their time and aircraft for the general public to enjoy. They put on a fantastic show and were able to raise $833 in free will donations for Eastern Iowa Honor Flight. Thank you very much to everyone who was involved. Look at the detail on the aircraft including the pilot.

Applications for Honor Flight can be obtained at eihonorflight.org or call Roger Uthoff 319-361-4024. Please go to Honor Flight Face book page to view all the great photos of the aircraft.
