Iowa City, Iowa. University of Iowa Community Credit Union officials announced today that UICCU will partner with Trees Forever to help restore the greenery in Benton County. The UICCU will match funds raised, up to the first $500, for the Trees Forever Recover, Replant & Restore Program. The program helps respond to communities that lose trees and natural areas to storms and floods. The storm that struck Benton and surrounding counties on July 11, 2011 destroyed more than 75% of the trees in the City of Vinton. In addition, UICCU is waiving home equity loan closing costs for members affected by the storm.

Donations can be made at the UICCU’s 412 1st Avenue location in Vinton or by calling 730-3221.
