News : Party in the Park - The Show must go on!

Vinton Cub Scouts Pack 47 followed the lead of area veterans to kick off the parade

Just one example of what was happening in town on Friday

The day ended with a beautiful fireworks display!

In spite of terrible weather that rolled into Vinton on Friday, just in time for the annual Party in the Park event, the party was in full swing on Saturday!  In order to keep residents safe, a notice was sent out on Friday that the day's events would be canceled except for the community meal at Farmers Bank. 

Unfortunately for the children,  the kiddie parade and fun on the courthouse lawn were canceled due to the weather. Even though the storms threw a wrench into plans for families on Friday, storms couldn't dampen the fun that was had on Saturday!

Crowds gathered at Riverside Park where games and competitions were held, entertainment was enjoyed and fireworks wowed!
