"It's important for everyone to understand the facility challenges our students and staff face and the solutions that are possible with an approved bond. We believe this online tool will keep that conversation open and ensure residents have more ways to engage with the district." Should the bond be approved, it would fund projects at all four of the schools. They include renovations at the Union High School,, which include a new HVAC and electrical systems, roof replacement, and extensive renovations to various school facilities. The bond also funds a new addition for wrestling and convert existing spaces to locker rooms and offices. There will be safety upgrades including fire alarms and door hardware at the Dysart-Geneseo and La Porte City Elementary schools. The Union Middle School HVAC systems, the roof, and restrooms will be addressed. A new bus barn is also proposed to replace the 20-year-old structure, offering better protection for the school's buses.
