News : Andreesen, Hesson place at Camp Courageous Triathlon

Two Vinton residents placed in the 2011 Camp Courageous Sprint Triathlon.

Claire Andreesen placed first in the 19 and under age group with a time of 1:50:35 Ashley Hesson placed second in the 25-29 age group 1:40:52 This was the first triathlon for both. The competition involved a 500 yard swim, 16 mile bike ride and 4K run. There were over 250 competitors in various age groups. All net proceeds from the event went to Camp Courageous, a year-round respite and recreational facility for individuals of all ages with disabilities. Over 5,700 individuals with special needs are served each year.
