The La Porte-Dysart FFA Chapter was among 25 teams from across Iowa who made their way to Manchester in September to take part in the 2025 Iowa FFA Milk Quality & Products Career Development Event. The contest gives students a hands-on chance to show off their know-how when it comes to milk quality and dairy foods — skills that go far beyond the average grocery store dairy aisle.
When the final results were tallied, the Postville FFA team came out on top, earning the title of Iowa Champion Team. They’ll go on to represent the state this October at the National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis. The Northeast FFA Chapter from Goose Lake earned Reserve Champion honors.
Individual honors went to Isabelle White of Postville FFA, who was named the Champion Individual, and to La Porte-Dysart’s own Brandon Frush, who proudly brought home the title of Reserve Champion Individual — a great accomplishment for both him and the local chapter.
The event was made possible through support from Crystal Farms and the Iowa FFA Foundation, with milk quality samples prepared by the faculty and staff at Iowa State University’s Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.
Congratulations to all the students who participated and represented their hometowns, schools, and the future of Iowa agriculture so well!
