Grand Champion honors were awarded Thursday in the FFA Market and Carcass Lamb shows at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Chelsea Schminke of Van Horne showed the Grand Champion FFA Market Lamb, and Brenden Kuesel of Victor took Reserve Champion in the show.
In the live judging of the FFA Carcass Lamb Show, Breanna Gourley of Webster City was awarded Grand Champion Honors, and Kaci Keitzer of Mediapolis received Reserve Grand Champion. In the carcass judging, Payge Edwards of Monroe took Champion honors and Caity Johnson of Stratford won Reserve Champion Carcass Lamb.

Schminke's and Kuesel's prize-winners, as well as 12 other livestock champions, will be auctioned in the prestigious Sale of Champions on Saturday, August 20, at 2 p.m. in the Penningroth Media Center of the Cattle Barn. The event is sponsored by the Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement, a non-profit organization established to encourage the pursuit of agriculture-related careers by Iowa's youth.

The Fairgrounds are located at East 30th and East University Avenue, just 10 minutes east of downtown Des Moines, and are open 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. each day of the Fair. Exhibit hours may vary.
