The holiday season is just around the corner, and with it comes one of Virginia Gay Hospital’s most anticipated traditions — the Annual Tree Walk, beginning Saturday, November 1, in the Virginia Gay Hospital Clinic Conference Room.
The Tree Walk will feature dozens of beautifully decorated trees, wreaths, and holiday displays, each created and donated by generous community members, local businesses, and hospital departments. Visitors can stroll through, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and place bids on their favorite displays throughout the event. All proceeds benefit the Virginia Gay Hospital Health Care Foundation’s Tree of Lights Campaign, which supports local healthcare initiatives that make a difference close to home.
“This event is such a fun and meaningful way to bring our community together,” said Robin Martin, Director of the Virginia Gay Hospital Foundation. “The creativity and generosity on display each year truly capture the spirit of the season.”
Tree Walk Schedule:
· Saturday, Nov. 1 – 10 AM–Noon
· Thursday, Nov. 6 – 5–7 PM
· Saturday, Nov. 8 – 8 AM–Noon
· Thursday, Nov. 13 – 5–7:30 PM (Open House)
· Saturday, Nov. 15 – 8 AM–Noon
· Thursday, Nov. 20 – 5–7 PM
· Saturday, Nov. 22 – 8–11 AM (Final bids close at 11 AM)
Funds raised through the Tree Walk support the VGH Annual Tree of Lights Campaign, providing the ability to purchase needed equipment that makes sense for healthcare in our community. In recent years, these funds have helped enhance patient safety, improve access to services, and support staff training, ensuring that quality care remains close to home.
The Virginia Gay Hospital Foundation extends heartfelt appreciation to Farmers Savings Bank & Trust for serving as the sole event sponsor for this year’s Tree Walk. Deep gratitude is also extended to the many community businesses, VGH staff, and community members whose creativity, time, and generous donations make this event possible year after year.
The public is invited to attend any of the scheduled viewing times. Admission is free, and everyone is encouraged to stop in, admire the displays, and join in the holiday fun.
