News : Belle Plaine Man Accused of Indecent Exposure on Two Interstates

A Belle Plaine man has been charged after authorities say he exposed himself to passing motorists on two eastern Iowa interstates on consecutive days.

Danan Ary, 30, faces two counts of indecent exposure following reports from drivers who told law enforcement they saw a man standing behind his vehicle and exposing his genitals to oncoming traffic.

According to a criminal complaint, the first incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 along Interstate 80 near Oxford. The following afternoon, around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 15, a second incident was reported in the northbound lanes of Interstate 380 near North Liberty.

A Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy reported that Ary later admitted to the behavior, telling officers he was seeking to “fulfill an excitement” he felt was missing from what he described as his “blah” life.

Ary has been charged and the case remains under investigation.
