A former Vinton-Shellsburg preschool teacher is charged after police say she left bruises on a 4-year-old boy after an incident at the school.
Kimberly Murray, 51 of Manchester, was charged after leaving bruises on a 4 year old boy after an incident at school She was charged on December 15, 2025, with child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor and assault causing bodily injury or mental illness a serious misdemeanor.
Court documents say that the 4-year-old was outside with his preschool class at recess from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on September 17, 2025. The boy held the door for the students to come back inside after recess was over. The report alleges that Murray “did not like” how he was holding the door, grabbing the boy by the upper arm.
Murray then pulled him to the other side of the door, allegedly leaving fingerprint bruises on his arm the reports says.
Murray is no longer part of the district, and the school district approved her leaving the district in November.
Her jury trial is scheduled for June 15, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
