The weather played a nasty Easter weekend trick on all of the Easter bunnies in the area. Following a night of pouring rain, the morning greeted us at a nippy 38 degrees. Undeterred, the Vinton Kiwanis kicked off the annual Easter egg hunt at the Kiwanis Park on Saturday morning.
Children of all ages arrived bundled up in their warmest clothes to collect the eggs left for them to gather. With fewer in attendance than normal, that didn't stop those who made the trip!
Before the fun began promptly at 10:00 a.m., the Easter Bunny took photos with children in the pavilion. The children left with red noses and chilly hands, but big smiles.
Thanks once again to the Vinton Kiwanis and all who assisted to make this event possible for our area children!
