Dressed in period costume, the VInton-Shellsburg High School Marching Band drum majors Emma Lippmann and Logan Halstead led the band in its "Gladiator" routine during halftime of the first home football game.
The music comes from the movie by that same name, and includes a dance solo along with several instrumental solos.
The band has several competitions scheduled for this fall, including the IHMSA State Barching Band Festival Oct. 8, at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids.
