News : VS voters returned incumbents to office; supported Kirkwood bond issue

In Tuesday's school elections, a total of only 766 people voted in Benton County, which includes Vinton-Shellsburg, Benton Community and Belle Plaine.

All of the VS candidates were running unopposed and easily won re-election. Brenda Bartz, Tim Bird. Angela Hazen and Megan Rickels will serve a four-year term.

The Kirkwood bond issue, which passed among all voters covered by Kirkwood, also passed among Benton County voters, by a margin of 442-265, or 62.5 percent.
