The University of Iowa Community Credit Union is helping to restore the greenery in Benton County.
During September, the credit union sponsored a matching campaign which raised $1965 for the Trees Forever Recover, Replant & Restore Program.
The storm that struck Benton and surrounding counties on July 11, 2011 destroyed more than 75% of the trees in the City of Vinton. Pictured at the check presentation are: John Myers and Mark Signs from Trees Forever, Cynthia Elwick who donated $1000 to the effort in memory of her father W.J. Bolin, and UICCU Vinton branch manager Rae Dugan.
