News : Team Vinton joins Race Against Breast Cancer; fund-raising continues

Breast Cancer Awareness month: Sales of key chains and shirts will help fund VGH mammography.

Approximately 100 members of Team Vinton participated in the Especially For You Race Against Breast Cancer last Sunday in Cedar Rapids. Most of the participants are breast cancer surivors and their friends and family members.

As October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, continues, fund-raising for the new mammography unit at Virginia Gay Hospital also continues. The sale of T-shirts and pink boxing glove keychains will continue throughout the month. Contact the Imaging Services Dept. at VGH at 319-472-6200 for ordering information. The boxing glove key chains are also available at Tharp Design.

Monkeytown is also offering a variety of shirts, with half of the proceeds going toward local groups involved in the fight against breast cancer.
