News : All State Band and Chorus competition chooses V-S students

This year, six vocal students and six band students auditioned for the Iowa All-State Chorus and Iowa All-State Band from Vinton-Shellsburg High School. Auditions were held on Saturday, October 22nd in Manchester, Iowa. Students auditioned in front of judges throughout the day competing for limited spots in the top high school ensembles in the state.

For the VSHS choral department, Jacob Bunge (Tenor 1) was selected as a 1st Alternate for the Iowa All-State Chorus. Jacob Bunge is son of Mark and Karen Bunge. Jacob is currently a sophomore at VSHS.

For the VSHS band department, Nick Gardner (Tenor Sax) was selected as a 2nd Alternate for the Iowa All-State Band. Nick Gardner is son of Scott and Sue Gardner. Nick is currently a junior at VSHS.
