News : V-S in need of used instruments

Dear Vinton-Shellsburg Community School Patrons:

The Vinton-Shellsburg School Band Programs are asking for community help.

The enrollment of students in the Vinton-Shellsburg Bands has increased significantly throughout the years, and we are currently experiencing a shortage of school owned instruments in the band program.

This poses a particular problem at the 5th Grade Band or beginner level. We are asking people in the community to donate fixable, working instruments to the V-S Schools. Instruments that are of particular need at the 5th Grade level are alto saxophones, trombones, flutes, and trumpets.

We hope you will consider donating your instrument to the school district, as we do not want to deny participation to any Vinton-Shellsburg student for instrument shortage reasons.
