Thursday, Nov. 17, is the annual Great American Smoke-Out (GASO).
In order to provide assistance to those trying to quit, the Benton County Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) office in Vinton is offering “Survivor’s Kits” for free to those who want to go a day without cigarettes. The kids include a pencil and pen, stress ball, gum and other items designed to occupy the hands and mouths of those who often use cigarettes to occupy them.
Visit the ASAC office on West Fourth Street for a kit or more information. The American Cancer Society also has information on its web site.
