The storm of 2011 made it clear to the Friends of the Shelter, Inc. (FOTSI) members that there is a need for a vehicle to move many animals at one time in case of future emergencies.
Thanks to donations, mostly from the United Way, FOTSI has received a new (to them) van, fitted with cages that will allow the transportation of several animals at one time. While FOTSI members hope it never will see use in an emergency, they will also use the van to take animals to public events such as adoption events or the spay/neuter clinic that will open soon in the Cedar Rapids area.
FOTSI members thank all those who donated to this and other projects that help the Vinton Animal Shelter take care of the area's cats and dogs.
