News : Dreaming of a White International Polar Bear Day?

Heavy snow gave Vinton area trees a thick white covering that lasted much of the morning Friday.

Snow-covered trees in Vinton Friday reminded residents of the white Christmas we did not have.

While a few people still regret not having a White Christmas, there is a small chance that International Polar Bear Day -- Feb. 27 -- may be at least a bit white here in the Vinton area.

Vinton area residents received about three inches of snow overnight Thursday into Friday. The forecast calls for sunny and warm weather over the weekend, according to Jason Hicok at www.vintonweather.com, so maybe the Polar Bear Day will, like Christmas, be less than white.
