Brian Larkin and Maria Covington are still recruiting volunteers to help them make the Polar Plunge this Saturday.
"So far, we have about six Polar Plungers," says Brian. "We're down in numbers due to some people moving away, prior committments, etc. We could really use some new team members to help us out.
In order to get a long sleeved tshirt, plungers need to raise $75.
"Any size donation is accepted," says Brian. "Last year we raised $1,240 to benefit Special Olympics Iowa. We're hoping to do that again this year."
If local folks would like to write a check, they can make it out to "Special Olympics Iowa" and drop it in the mail slot at Brian's office at John Leonard State Farm, 417 C Avenue in Vinton. Brian has also created a page for the Vinton Polar Plunge team. Click HERE to see that page.
The Polar Plunge will be held at the Pleasant Creek Beach in Palo on Saturday, March 24.
"We will hit the water at 12 Noon. Thank you in advance for your support," says Brian.
