On March 16 and 17, the Chamber Singers competed at the Omaha North Viking Cup in the Concert Choir portion of the competition. The Chamber Singers competed against schools from Omaha, Nebraska, and Iowa, all which would be considered 4A in this state. At the end of the day, the VSHS Chamber Singers walked away with a 1st Place finish.

The Chamber Singers traveled throughout the Midwest and made appearances in Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Nebraska. Chamber Singers performed at the Augustana Chamber Choir Festival this fall and will competed at the Onalaska Classic Competition and the Omaha North Viking Cup Competition. Chamber Singers will also compete at the Iowa High School Music Association Solo and Small Ensemble Festival. The VSHS Chamber Singers is the premier ensemble at Vinton-Shellsburg High School. It consists of 24 auditioned singers and rehearse twice a week. The ensemble is open to 10-12 graders and select freshmen with auditions held in the spring of each year. Congratulations to the VSHS Chamber Singers for their outstanding performance and great work representing our school and community. The VSHS Chamber Singers will perform on March 24 at 3:10pm in Clear-Creek Amana for the State Solo/Small Ensemble Festival and on Saturday, April 21 for the Simon Estes Foundation Young Artist Series in our own high school auditorium.
