A drum set made from large water bottles.

Garbage can lids. Pots and pans. A washboard.

These and other instruments, including guitars made from recycled items, will be featured in the Vocal Trash concert on Saturday, June 23. The concert is the main musical feature of the 2012 Party in the Park. It takes place just before the traditional fireworks show.

Steve Linder, the founder of the Dallas-based music group, said the show will be "fun and family-friendly" and include some lessons about good environmental choices.

Linder likes to use the word "up-cycling," which refers to taking something and using it for some better purpose than its original use.
