Eric Lynn Kolsrud, 50, of Shellsburg was arrested by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office Friday July 13, 2012.

Kolsrud was charged with assault causing bodily injury (a serious misdemeanor) and contributing to the delinquency of a minor (a simple misdemeanor). A Sheriff’s office investigation revealed Kolsrud used a “Hot Shot” shocking device that is used on livestock to shock a sixteen year old girl repeatedly following a dispute between the two of them. Kolsrud is also accused of telling a fifteen year old female who also lived in his residence to lie to law enforcement if the incident was investigated.

Kosrud made an initial appearance before a magistrate and was released from jail on his own recognizance.
