News : Firemen respond to another 10 a.m. call; fuse box malfunction causes smoke

Firefighters, electrical crews responded to a report of smoke coming from a fuse box Tuesday.

For the second day in a row, the Vinton Fire Department received a 10 a.m. call this morning.

The fire department received a report of smoke coming from a faulty fuse box at 204 Fifth Avenue in Vinton. City crews joined firemen at the scene. While electrical crews handled the electrical problem, firefighters used fans to remove smoke from the building.

At 10 a.m. Monday, the fire department responded to a call at the Kerry soy processing plant on the west edge of Vinton. See that story with photos HERE.
