Eagle lovers look forward to seeing the familiar white tail and head of the bald eagle as the birds return to Iowa each winter as the official bird of the United States looks for feeding areas.

Low water levels have affected fishing for both men and eagles; perhaps the weather of 2012 will make sights like these more common in the area this fall and winter.

TP October 25, 2012, 8:24 am Excellent photography! Now, if you could have a photo showing that one has caught a fish.
Nice work!
Editor\'s Note: Yes, Tom, I was hoping for that; but you know how some fishermen are about keeping their spots a secret!
RS October 25, 2012, 12:52 pm Great photos, Dean!
CM October 25, 2012, 7:39 pm Love the eagles. Looking forward to seeing them again this winter in the area. Also watch the \"Decorah Eagles\" online. (OBTW, Last winter, one 2 different days, we saw an eagle soaring over Vinton.)
