Jill Marlow is the current Benton County Auditor and is seeking re-election for a sixth term. Below is Jill's candidate profile.

I have served as the Benton County Auditor for twenty years – being first elected in 1992. I am experienced in all areas of the position including complex budgeting, taxation, and financing issues. I have conducted over 70 elections as the Commissioner of Elections. The auditor has many responsibilities including being secretary to the board of supervisors, providing human resource services to county employees, payroll, auditing, property transfer and geographical information systems, as well as many other duties. I began my county service in 1982, when I took a part-time position working nights and weekends in the sheriff’s office. I also worked in the county attorney’s office prior to being elected auditor in 1992. I served two terms as the Governor’s appointee to the State/County Finance Committee – a committee providing guidance on county budget and financial reporting issues. I was elected by county auditors statewide to provide leadership as the president of the Iowa State Association of County Auditors and have served on many other boards representing Benton County. The staff and I take great pride in providing knowledgeable and friendly service.

My personal life is my family. I have been married to Gary for 36 years, who is employed as Operations Supervisor at East Central Iowa REC. We have two children- Dr. Stacey Marlow-Fisher and Garrett Marlow. Stacey is an emergency medicine resident physician at Tampa General Hospital and her husband, Jed, is a teacher in the Tampa area. Garrett is a recent geology graduate from the University of Iowa and lives in North Liberty. I received my AA degree from Kirkwood, I am certified in State Election Administration, and have taken numerous continuing education courses. I am a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Benton County Farm Bureau. I also enjoy volunteering at various events. Relaxation includes spending time with family and friends, working with my horses, and knitting.

Benton County needs proven and experienced leadership and I will continue as always to give 200% to provide the best possible service if re-elected.
