Benton County Sheriff Randall Forsyth reports that deputies answered 287 calls for service and investigated 16 accidents.  Deputies attempted to serve 244 civil papers and issued 86 traffic citations and 149 traffic warnings.

There were 23 arrests/juvenile referrals with 26 charges being filed in October 2012.

 (10) were simple misdemeanors, (11) were indictable misdemeanors, and (5) were felony charges.

Charges included: Arrest Warrants served – 12;  Assault – 1;  Driving While Suspended / Revoked / Barred – 6;  Operating While Intoxicated – 5;  Drug Related – 1;  Theft – 1.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
