On Monday, November 26th, we welcomed the Urbana Card Club as our guests. The activity of the day was a Pepper Card Party. There were four tables of players. Don Selken won 1st place with 263 points. Bill Milne won 2nd place with 251 points. Third place went to George Caslavka with 244 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, November 27th, the afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Hauser/O’Deen Music.

On Wednesday, November 28th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. June Salerno handpicked the games. Game one was the Letter “X” with Hazel Eastwood winning. Game two was Four Corners with Geri Shaffer, JoAnn Roster, and George Eckhart winning. Game three was B-N-O with Geri Shaffer, George Eckhart, Hazel Eastwood, JoAnn Roster, and Faye Goodell winning. Game four was All Around the Outside with Orville Ellingson winning. Marion Isbell and Orville Ellingson won game five with Blackout.

On Thursday, November 29th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. Frances Kelly handpicked the games. Game one was Around the Free Spot and Four Corners with JoAnn Roster winning. Game two was a Plus Sign with Marion Isbell winning. Game three was First 13 Numbers with Elsie Knaack winning. Game four was Large Picture Frame with JoAnn Roster winning. Greta Geiken won game five with a Blackout.

On Friday, November 30th, there were 5 tables of 500 played. Dora Vogt won 1st place with 3,060 points. Darlene Peters won 2nd place with 2,930 points. Hazel Eastwood won 3rd place with 2,780 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Monday, December 3rd, there were 4 tables of Pepper Cards played. Frances Kelly won 1st place with 321 points. Don Selken won 2nd place with 283 points. Irene Geiger won 3rd place with 266points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, December 4th, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Elsie Knaack handpicked the games. Game one was Four Postage Stamps with Hazel Eastwood winning a tin box with an ornament. Game two was a 9-Pack with Faye Goodell winning cupcake canoles. Game three was the Letter “Y” with Marion Isbell winning bubble bath. Game four was the Letter “Z” with June Salerno winning a puzzle. Ruth Wieditz won a free meal on game five with Blackout.

On Wednesday, December 5th, the activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Marion Isbell handpicked the games. Game one was B-N-O with Orville Ellingson as the winner. Game two was a 9-Pack with Greta Geiken and June Salerno winning. Game three was a Flag with Elsie Knaack winning. Game four was a Diamond with Phyllis Ebert winning. Greta Geiken won game five with Blackout.

On Thursday, December 6th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by June Salerno. Game one was a 9-Pack with Lorraine Fox winning. Game two was the Letter “X” with June Salerno and JoAnn Roster winning. Game three was Four Corners with Paul Fix winning. Game four was a Layer Cake with Hazel Eastwood and Paul Fix winning. Geri Shaffer and Paul Fix won game five with a Blackout.

On Friday, December 7th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party with 4 tables of players. Irene Geiger won 1st place with 3,270 points. Leroy Weiser won 2nd place with 3,000 points. Merle Roths won 3rd place with 2,970 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Evelyn Greenwood brought cookies to share. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.

Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
