News : VSHS Band News: Division 1 ratings, pep band to perform Tuesday

A few notes for fans of the VSHS Band:

Tomorrow night (Tuesday, February 15), the Independence Pep Band will be joining forces with the Vinton-Shellsburg Pep Band for a mass pep band performance. The bands will be having a pizza party approximately 6:15 P.M. and will play between games and at half time. The bands will be learning and performing together and will be supporting each of the school's BB teams.

This Friday night is the annual Band Department Soup Supper. Serving time is 5-7 PM.

On Saturday, the V-S Jazz Band went to Clear Creek-Amana HS and earned a Division I rating at the 2013 IHSMA STATE JAZZ BAND FESTIVAL. This Division I rating is the jazz band's 5th Straight Division I rating in a row. Tonight, VSHS will be hosting the 2013 WAMAC Speech Festival. This event is hosted by our V/S Speech Department, and the Band Department runs the concessions.
