News : VU welcomes new board members; plans to hear from Dan Gable

There have been a few updates and reminders that we want to make sure you know about. Please note a few of the updates listed below and feel free to contact anyone on the Board for more information if needed. VU Board of Directors

In December, Vinton Unlimited had elections for the Board of Directors. We had a great turnout of people who were interested in running for the available Board positions, but unfortunately, we were only able to elect 3 to the board for this term.

Congratulations to Bethany Clemenson, Sue Hammond, & Jon Clingman for being elected to the board this time around. We look forward to having you join the board to work toward the common goal of making the Vinton community a great place to live, shop, work, & play. At the first board meeting of the year, Tim Bird was elected President of the VU Board, Jon Clingman was elected Vice-President, & Kathy Tranel was elected Secretary. Below is a list of the entire Board of Directors, so please feel free to contact any of them with any thoughts, ideas, or things we should be working on over the next year to improve the offerings of Vinton Unlimited. Vinton Unlimited is excited to invite everyone to join us for our 2013 Annual Meeting on March 1st, 2013. There will be a dinner beginning at 6pm with former Iowa State wrestler, World Champion, & University of Iowa Coach, Dan Gable presenting at 6:45pm.

Tickets are on sale at Farmers Savings Bank & Trust (401 B Avenue) and will be well worth the price of admission! Dan is a world renowned wrestler and a national speaker who is guaranteed to encourage and excite all who hear him speak. You don't have to be a fan of wrestling to get motivated and find some words of wisdom from this dynamic speaker and role model.

Adult tickets cost just $20 ($25 for non-VU members) for dinner starting at 6pm by Smoken' on the Cedar and a ticket to see Dan speak. If you aren't interested in dinner, you can still purchase a ticket for just $10 ($15 for non-VU members) to see Dan present, starting at 6:45pm. Student tickets can be purchased for just $15 (including meal) or just $5 to only see Dan speak.

The Vinton Unlimited Annual meeting dinner will take place at Tilford Elementary beginning at 6pm with the annual meeting and Dan speaking in the Auditorium beginning at 6:45pm. Be sure to get there early so we can begin on time. Stick around afterward to meet Dan, ask questions, and have him sign autographs.

You must reserve tickets ahead of time and seating is limited, so please purchase tickets early!

VU Annual Meeting Sponsorship Opportunity

We have invited Coach Dan Gable to be our key note speaker at this year's Annual Meeting.

As an athlete, Gable was a championship wrestler at every level. He was a three-time Iowa high school state champion at Waterloo West and a two-time NCAA champion at Iowa State University. His career as an athlete culminated in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich where he won the Gold Medal and did not surrender a single point to any of his opponents. As a coach he was even more dominant in leading the Iowa Hawkeyes to an unprecedented 15 National Championships in 21 seasons.

Gable's speaking style is dynamic and entertaining. He relates his life experiences and gives his formula for success which his listeners can apply in their everyday lives and businesses.

The program will be held on March 1, 2013 in the Tilford Elementary School Auditorium. We will start with a meal catered by Smoken' on the Cedar at 6:00pm, with Coach Gable speaking at 6:45pm. Your generous sponsorship would be highlighted by:
