News : VSHS choir members Jacob Bunge, Matt Lash invited to Meistersinger Choir

On Saturday, January 26th, two VSHS choir members participated in the Meistersinger Honor Choir at Wartburg College. Jacob Bunge (11) and Matthew Lash (11) spent the day working with director Lee Nelson, Professor of Music and guest composer Stacey V. Gibbs. This year's Meistersinger Honor Choir featured several world premier pieces written by Gibbs.

Also, Jacob Bunge performed in the Masterclass during the day. Voice faculty at Wartburg listen to students perform solo literature and then select the top performers. Jacob was selected as one of the top four soloists of the day and performed on the final concert that evening. This is a huge honor for musicians performing solo literature.
