News : It\'s that time of the year...

Once again, we are coming to you with a request for a donation to maintain Vinton Today.

After our fundraising efforts last year, we were able to operate in the black! We covered all of the updating costs, hosting fees, domain name fees, computer programming time and much needed software!

YOU ARE AWESOME!!!

This year we again ask for your help.

We know there are other sources of news out there, and most charge for you to read it, we of course, do not, and we don't intend to start now!

There is also no charge for the many obituaries you see here.

We don't charge for the classifieds, or the legal notices we run, AND you can actually read them on our site.

Our news offers the ability to zoom the page larger making it easier to read (hold down the Ctrl and the + button to see), all convenient features you can't find in a print newspaper!

At this time, we are averaging 2.5 MILLION visits a year! Probably the largest website in Vinton, possibly in Benton County. We've been hesitant to toot our own horns, but honestly, we have found that people from throughout the county are now starting to look to Vinton Today to find out what's happening in the county seat.

Some who no longer live here have let us know that they depend on this site to keep in touch with "home".

So while so many of you enjoy having the local newspaper at your fingertips, realize that we are making news to some who no longer live!

This year, we've received a few donations, but we need many, many more to meet the needs we have to keep this up and running.
