Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School recognized the recipients of the President's Award for Educational Excellence and Achievement at the final awards ceremony on June 4, 2010.
The criteria for the Educational Excellence Award (PAEE) is students who earn a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Students must also score an 85% or higher National Percentile Rank (NPR) in either reading or math on the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS). Students who do not meet the criteria for the President's Educational Excellence Awards but who show outstanding educational commitment in their academic subjects are awarded the President's Award for Educational Achievement (PAEA).
