The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department is very excited to have reached the goal of $250,000 for the development of the new Celebration Park.

Actually, the fundraising committee has now raised $280,500 for the project. The committee is very thankful of the support that they have received from the community and surrounding areas and want to be sure that all of the funds will stay with the Celebration Park fund. Bids for all of the projects are being done over the next few weeks and we will have a better idea of the final cost of the park and the amenities.

Fund-Raising Committe members included Jeff Petersen, John Anderson, Mark Mossman, & Jon Clingman. The Parks & Recreation Department is very thankful for all of the hard work these great community minded guys put in to help us receive the funding for this fantastic new park. Celebration Park would not becoming a reality with their help.

Construction of the park is close to starting, the start date is really pending on Mother Nature at this time. Hopefully, we will see some activity over the next couple of weeks. The site is now fenced in and we are asking that all onlookers to please keep out of this area until we open it for everyone to utilize. We are still planning on a late summer opening if all goes as planned.
