News : Vinton Farmers Market kicks off season on June 6th

The Schmidt Family Band will be performing the first night of Farmers Market on June 6th

The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department will be kicking off another Farmers market season on Thursday, June 6th. The market will once again be at the Vinton Rail Road Depot from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. every Thursday through September 26th.

On June 6th patrons will be treated to the great sounds of the Schmidt Family Band. This talented and energetic family will be entertaining you throughout the evening while you enjoy a hot grilled sandwich from Merchants Grilling. Make sure you stop out to listen to their songs from the past and current tunes. I’m sure you will find these guys a lot of fun and very entertaining.

Then make sure you stop out to see all the variety of things our vendors have to offer. Every year it always surprises us the new and great quality of products that your neighbors and our area vendors bring to the market. You will find fresh produce to delicious baked goods every week at the market.

Also the market will always have Merchants Grilling serving up some hot food for your tummies. Then enjoy the social atmosphere with some entertainment almost every week. The first week we will be sending off our long distance balloon launch. This contest is free to everyone and is always a lot of fun. Throughout the market season we will be having some of the old events such as Vendor Sample Night & a Community Band Performance but we are also planning some new and fun nights so be sure to stop out to the Vinton Farmers Market every Thursday.
