Obituaries : Evelyn A. Bush

Evelyn A. Bush, age 81, died Saturday, March 06, 2010 at Sunnycrest Nursing Center in Dysart following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Prairie Creek Christian Church in rural Vinton with Pastor Dennis Sackett officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton and from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Anderson Cemetery, Swisher. Evelyn Agnes Bush was born September 30, 1928, in rural Mechanicsville, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Lottie Pirkel Stancel. She attended country school. On September 14, 1958, Evelyn was united in marriage with Robert Bush in Cedar Rapids. She worked as a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She was a member of Prairie Creek Christian Church in rural Vinton. Evelyn in survived by her husband, Bob, of Vinton; one son, Delbert Bush of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters: Adeline Volesky of Cedar Rapids and Lottie Yercies of Hills; and one brother: George Stancel. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Diana Bush; four brothers: Louis, Joseph, Lumir and Milo Stancel; and two sisters: Alma and Roseanne.
