Lucas Samuel Johnson, 38, passed away in the loving arms of his family on September 27, 2013 at his home in Vinton, Iowa after a courageous battle against lymphoma.

Visitation will be 11:00 to 1:00 Wednesday October 2, 2013 at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Funeral services will be held at Goettsch Funeral home in Anamosa at 1:00pm Wednesday October 2, 2013. Burial will be at the Wilcox cemetery in rural Viola.

Luke was born October 13th, 1974 to Steve and Linda Joslin Johnson in Newton, Iowa. Before he was a year old the family moved from Iowa to New Jersey. He moved to Anamosa when he was 13 where he graduated from high school in 1993.

Luke married Stacia Deam on September 27, 2009 at the home of her parents. They made their home in the Vinton area with Stacia’s two daughters.

Luke earned a BA in computer science and worked as a computer programmer for many years. Most recently, he was enjoying his most satisfying career experience with the people at Veridian Credit Union. He was a member of the Iowa National Guard serving in Iraq. He was baptized into the Christian faith as a youth.

Luke is survived by his children, Lewis and Rachel Johnson, his wife Stacia, two step-daughters, Korey and Katie Murdock; his bother Quinn (Molly) Johnson McCormick, Miranda, and Emma; his mother, Linda Johnson; two grandfathers, Gerald Johnson and Leonard A. Joslin; uncles Stan and Stuart (Joyce) Johnson; aunts, Lorraine (Rick) Hartley and Christine (Jim) Joslin-Faust; parents in law Charles and Holly Deam; eight cousins and an extensive extended family and circle of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen G. Johnson, and his grandmothers, Gloria Johnson and Sarah J. Joslin.
