Obituaries : Melissa Hernandez

VINTON:      Melissa Jo Hernandez, 47, died at her residence on Monday, December 23, 2013 following a sudden illness.
     A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Vinton with Pastor Loel Fink officiating.  
     Melissa was born December 13, 1966 to Kenneth and Amelia (Marler) McRavin.  On July 11, 2009 she was united in marriage to Juan Hernandez in Vinton.  
     Melissa loved traveling, shopping and was a wine collector.  Her true passion was reading her Bible.
      She is survived by her husband, Juan Hernandez of Vinton; her children, Matthew Gonzalez of Dallas, TX, Leticia Tellez of Cedar Rapids, Cristina Maldonado of Dallas, TX, Priscilla Rodriguez of Vinton and James Cervantes and fiancée, Lori of Dallas, TX; her step-daughters, Mattie and Elizabeth Hernandez; her mother, Amelia Marler of Dallas, TX, , her father, Kenneth McRavin of Weaverville, OK; her biological father, Al Mann of Frankston, TX; her sister, Regina Gurrero and her brother, Kenneth McRavin II.
     Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
