Gertrud (Rosenbauer) Stark, 77, passed away January 25, 2014, in her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Services will be held on Saturday Feb. 1, at the First Baptist Church in Sister Bay, Wisc., at 11 a.m. There will be a lunch and time of fellowship to follow the service.
She was born in Zirndorf, Germany, where she met her husband, Roger Stark. Trudy and Roger owned and operated several restaurants in Illinois and Iowa. They also started several Jolly Rogers Pizzarias with their sons, Pete and Tom.
Trudy loved antique furniture and during the summers they refinished antiques and opened an antique and art gallery in the settlement shops in Fish Creek, Wisconsin.
In 1980 they decided to move to Door County permanently. They built a home and gallery in Egg Harbor called Rosenbauers Antiques and Roger Stark Art Gallery. Roger passed away in 1994 and Trudy continued with the gallery until 1999, when she decided to retire.
Trudy also loved her flowers and spent countless hours in her yard.
Trudy was a fabulous cook making wonderful German food for anyone who was hungry.
Trudy was born June 30, 1936, and is preceded in death by her parents- Freidrich & Kunigunde Rosenbauer, and siblings Kurt, Erika, Adam, Hans and husband Roger.
She is survived by siblings Gretel, Luisa and Georg, sons Norbert (Inga), Peter (Monica) and Thomas (Marcy), grandchildren Bianca (Alex), Melanie (Stephan), Morgan (Marty), Olivia, Bailey and Cassidy; and great-grandchildren Melina, Antonia, Luisa, Ben and Phillip.
