Delores Ann Brown

CEDAR RAPIDS: Delores Ann Brown, 81, formerly of Vinton, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.

Delores was born August 15, 1932 near Newhall to Clarence and Emma (Stolte) Williams and graduated from Lincoln High School in Vinton.

She is survived by her sons, Steven (Amy) Broxey of Cedar Rapids, and Mark Broxey of Bernard, IA and his friend, Melinda of Jackson, MO; her grandchildren, Brad and Beth; her sisters, Virginia (Louis) Ferguson of Cedar Rapids, and Shirley Tumilty of Van Horne; and her brother, Kenneth (Rose Marie) Williams of Vinton.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Timothy Broxey; and her sister, Darlys Michael.

FC July 9, 2022, 6:43 pm Dee was a very good friend of mine and my mentor in my young life. She taught me so much. I have been searching for her for many years. We lost touch when she left Kansas City. I loved her so very much. She was like a mother to me. She was so young for her age. Dee was the same age as my dad. We spent many holidays together.
